1Pe 2:13 Then be in obedience to every ordinance of men, because of the Lord, whether to a king as supreme,
1Pe 2:14 or to governors as sent by Him for vengeance on evildoers, but for praise on well-doers.
1Pe 2:15 For such is the will of God, doing good to silence the ignorance of foolish men;
1Pe 2:16 as free, and not having freedom as a cover of evil, but as servants of God.
1Pe 2:17 Honor all. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.
Joh 8:31 Then Jesus said to the Jews who believed on Him, If you continue in My Word, you are My disciples indeed.
Joh 8:32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Rom 6:18 Then being made free from sin, you became the slaves of righteousness.
There is much more that can be said from the Holy Scriptures concerning our freedom in CHRIST. What exactly does being free in CHRIST mean? There are many who think that it means we are free to do as we choose, as we always have, that no matter what, we are forgiven. This reasoning is a lie from satan.
We are clearly told by JESUS HIMSELF in John 8 that if we continue in HIS word, meaning abide in it, live in it and require it for our complete existence and eternal salvation, then we are indeed free.
We are warned to not use our freedom as a cover of evil. Doing as our desires and will would have us do, then proclaiming I am forgiven so it is all good.
Where does this freedom come from, and the power to remain free? Only while in the presence of our FATHER in heaven. HE grants us the power as a free gift as we seek HIS face, seeking to abide in HIS truth and will.
As Christians we do not teach the law, but we do teach obedience to GOD in love and through our love for HIM. One can not be free if they choose to do as they and their evil lust desire. One can not be lazy and refuse to seek and find, while claiming to be a Christian and walking in the freedom of GOD.
People as a whole, oppose change, yet GOD requires and demands us to change. CHRIST began HIS earthly ministry by saying repent, the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Repent is to change our hearts and minds back to the things of GOD. If we do this, we have been promised that as we ask it will be given, as we seek we will find, and as we knock the doors will open.
So many of us want to rely upon the walks of others, we seek prayer, guidance and instruction, but if we are not told what we want to hear, we ignore the teachings and refuse to obey GOD. GODS WORD does not lie, HE said if you/we love HIM, we will obey HIS WORDS. How is it that we can obey GOD and HIS WORD? By staying in HIS presence at all times, it is the only way. By seeking to be transformed and changed into more of HIS likeness on a minute by minute basis.
As an evangelist, it can sometimes be hard to say what it is GOD wants HIS church to hear. To lay out before HIS children HIS WORD and teachings so that none can claim to be ignorant of the truth. Time is running out, I do not know when the end will be. But I do know without a doubt, that our individual ends will come quickly and swiftly like a thief in the night, and we are to be prepared for our time in front of the judgement seat of GOD.
We must individually and corporately seek to remain in the presence of GOD at all times, if we are to live in the hope of HIS resurrection life HE has promised those who love HIM.
May GOD bless each of us with HIS revealed will in our lives.
