Imagine a child sitting in her bedroom. Toys, books, dolls, and
games all on brightly decorated shelves. The child sits fearfully
stiff and tense on the beautifully made bed. Worried and unsure the
pain becomes overwelming. Tears roll down her face.
"I want so much to play with all the toys and to learn from those
books! I want to roam and discover all that Mommy has put in this
room, but. But, what if I use a toy wrong? what if I make a foolish
selection of dolls? How do I know which book Mommy wants me to read
first? I really don't even understand the basic rules to most of the
games. The room is so very clean. So crisp. So perfect. I'm afraid
I'll mess the whole thing up!"
This is an offer of hope, an image to hold on to. Look and see,
everything in your "room" (life) has been place there with you in
mind. For your joy, your growth, your comfort. For your good and His
purpose. How can anything in your "room" be frightening or even wrong
for you? If you make a mistake or a poor judgement call, if you make a
mess of this "room" with your exploration and childlike discovery, He
will help you clean it up. This "room" (life) are all in His control.
His hands. You really need not want for anything! Do not concern
yourself with doing everything correctly, only in doing what He has put
before you. You need only to explore and to grow. You are free to
discover and enjoy all that is in the "room" that He has placed you in!
Trust in your Father.
