Angel Elite Corps Norman’s Transfer Scene II

Characters:

CAP or Centurion/ Centry (Captain of Elite Corps)
LOGOS (Commander of Logistics & Support)
AID (Logos’ aid)

Scene II: Office of Logos, Commander Support & Logistics

(SFX: Door opening)

Aid: You can’t go in, sir!

Cap: You are not AUTHORIZED to tell me what I can and can’t do –

Logos: What’s going on here?

Aid: I’m sorry sir, he just barged right past--

Cap: Are you the one responsible for transferring dead weight into my outfit?

Logos: Centry—

Cap: In all the millennia that I have served in the Corps, I have never seen such an irresponsible—

Aid: Do you want me to call a Restrainer, sir?

Logos: That won’t be necessary, Joy. Close the door, please.

Aid: Yes, sir.

(SFX: Door closing)

Cap: Are you insane? What kind of ambitious stunt are you trying to pull here, forcing one of your own into Elite Corps?

Logos: It wasn’t my call, Centry—

Cap: Trying to make a name for yourself?

Logos: It didn’t come from me—

Cap: You’ve always had your eye on my command. And since it was passed over you to me, you’re trying to get the next best thing—

Logos: HIGH COMMANDER AGAPE CUT THE ORDER!

Cap: What? What?

Logos: I was as surprised as you when it came down.

Cap: Agape issued the transfer?

Logos: Not directly. But I was under strict orders to send the best of my best Logistics slingers your way.

Cap: I don’t understand. Why?

Logos: Perhaps it’s felt you’re overextended, or perilously isolated on missions. With the recent loss of Glory, there’s bound to be some rethinking of tactics and deployment, Centurion. And while it was quite clear it wasn’t your fault at command or anyone’s deficiency in executing orders, nonetheless, we lost a good comrade, and it would be remiss of us if steps weren’t taken to avoid repeating the same mistake.
In short, I don’t know, Centry, and when Agape issues orders, I don’t ask why or try to guess at motivations. Unlike someone I know.

Cap: Yeah, hey, listen. I said some things just now…

Logos: It’s forgotten. We all feel the loss of Glory. It must be tough on you -- and your squad.

Cap: I tell you, Logos, I keep on thinking there must’ve been something I could have done.

Logos: I imagine Agape has been feeling the same way. And perhaps adding L&S to your team is the answer he came up with.

Cap: I hope your right. I couldn’t bare another loss – not right after losing Glory.

Logos: We’ll just have to trust this is the right decision. Now take care of my boy, Cap. He's the best you can get, but he doesn't know what he's in for.

Cap: You have my word.

(MUSIC up and out)
