Why can’t I say the word “God” in my school
Why won’t they let us hold hands in prayer
But no matter how hard they try to stop you
There’s no power that can keep you from being there.
Why can’t I stand on the courthouse steps and pray
And openly declare my declare my love for you
Our political leaders are in need my prayers
But the media scandalizes every move I do.
Why can’t I openly declare I am a Christian
And show your love to my fellow man
Don’t they know you’re the key to their success
And the power and greatness of your almighty hand.
People in this world cannot survive without you
But still people are trying to erase your name
And then when a tragedy suddenly happens
Then whom do you think they will try to blame.
