Is it a moonlight drive on a summer night
with your best girl by your side
Or the scent of honeysuckle invading the air
looking down at the stars in her eyes
Is it a winning hand in a game of chance
you've lost so many times before
or arriving home knowing your loved ones
are waiting for you behind the front door
Is it a hot cup of coffee on a cold winter's morn'
with a blanket of alabaster outside
or that career you've worked at so long and hard
to then realize you've finally arrived
Is it that mystery novel you just can't put down
as suspense builds with each turn of the page
or opening night at your child's school play
when she walks out onto the stage
All these things are satisfying by the Grace of God
for this I must surely attest
But what satisfies me most is knowing what waits
the moment after I take my last breath
