As we pass the Christmas lights,
Little children point in glee.
While we drive out to the Mall,
To set em' up on Santa's knee.
They have a list, five pages long,
That could take up quite a while.
Cause Santa never comes to our house,
So we have to keep a Wal-mart file.
I think we're missing something,
Oh good grief! What could it be?
If our child doesn't get that toy,
It will all come back on me!
The trunk is loaded down,
The tires, they look really low.
But we have to hide the stuff,
So the kids will never know.
At home, everyone admires
Our big ole Christmas tree.
The yard sports lively reindeer,
But ELECTRIC BILL is all I see!
The dinner we have planned,
Is much more than we can eat,
But we have to load the table,
With everybody's favorite treat.
The money is running awfully thin,
The dreadful dead-line, we can't beat.
We have to use a major credit card,
For the Joyful Season to be complete.
I know we're missing something,
Good grief! What could it be?
As I was wrapping tons of gifts,
A light began to shine on me.
Christmas is not about a Santa,
Who doesn't bring us things.
Santa cannot answer prayers,
Or pay the price the season brings.
The Savior, Jesus Christ,
Is the greatest gift of all!
We don't have to shop around,
Or find him sitting in the Mall.
Let the season be truly Joyful,
As through Christ(remove the X)we can recall,
Baby Jesus birth in Bethlehem,
Lying in a manger, within a lowly stall.
Take the kids in faith rejoicing,
While we hear the joy bells ring.
Let us place our lists of hopes,
At the feet of our precious King.
LOVE is the greatest gift of all...!
