THE CHOSEN ONE

This was written in 1999, inspired by a heart reaching out for love during a time when God revealed another piece of life's puzzle to me. All of us, in our journey to learn about love, will always keep picking up tokens and pieces of the treasure when we continue to allow God to be first. In most of my relationships I loved so hard, I had to learn it was applied all wrong. More of my attention was given to the individuals and the relationship and not enough focus on God. I didn't realize it then, but my relationships became idols. Ignorance had me blinded, but I thought how can love be bad! Simple now, when it's out of order.

THE CHOSEN ONE

My heart is aching
I won't allow myself to believe you've been faking
that for me you cared
If you really want to know the truth
I'm just scared
Let your mind
Drive into my thoughts
Where you thought where dead end streets
Take a closer look
It's an open and closed book
Read between the lines
True love is slowly trying to be defined
Can you truelly perceive
That I just wanted you to be
The master surgeon to my heart
So much damage that needed to be healed
I felt
I could be cured with a dose of Your loves' pill
I never could truelly see
Someone loving me for me
To be that lighthouse
That slowly guides trust in
What hurt me most
Is that I didn't allow
You to see the real me
Only captured ghost
Which were imprisoned inside
my memory
Everytime someone hurt me
And let me down
It was another weapon of the deceiver
To have me bound
To plot and attack
And fight back against
Everything I truelly believed in
It's all the monsters schemes
At deceiving my mind to believe
Something that does not exist
Love kept being missed
Please don't allow the thief to
Steal what's really real
And that is that
I love you
So very much
And shall no longer allow
Evil to be a crutch
To my fears
Believing I can overcome
Anything with Christ as King
Contemplating and hating
Yet truimphing cause
Now another level of my 3rd eye
Sees the devil that tried to
Take my dream away
Hey time will reveal
What's real
I pray
It will all be made clear that
The obvious is near
I'm growing
Mind blowing
In knowing
That I still am
The chosen one

Wow, Susan! You could easily, easily have peered into the secret places of my own heart to write such a poem! I was dumbfounded by how much this poem hit home!!! (Psst... you're poem needs some proofreading. Try spellcheck. But also, "choosen" should say "chosen" and spellcheck won't catch that or other such types of grammatical errors.)
