Poetry
Its cold outside, and as the snow starts to blow,
I feel so badly ‘cause I have no place to go….
I knock on doors, and no one answers, as if they don’t hear me,
Or simply don’t care.
They say they don’t know me, or know me too well,
And they don’t let me in, they just stare.
Do they think I’ll just go away? Just disappear?
It hurts so bad it brings me to tears!
I’ve tried knocking on so many doors, my knuckles are bloody.
What’s up with the hearts of everybody? Nobody lets me in.
It’s cold outside, and the winds are stronger than before.
I promise to bring the warmth in with me, but nobody opens their door.
Please, oh please, just let me in and call me friend,
Or I won’t be so nice when I come back ‘round again.
Your friend to be,
Jesus

The first time I read it the ending was a surprise. Then I read it again, and I thought it strange that Jesus had no place to go, and was so cold; THEN...I read it a third time and it dawned on me the verses in the BIble that say "I was hungry, naked, in prison"...etc. and "What you have done for the least of these = you have done it unto me!" I loved it! It flows and the thought pulls at your heart! Thank you for sharing!
