Imagine the horror of waking up
And realizing that all you ever had was gone
Imagine you had no place to go
You couldn't call family because you had no phone
Imagine the despair that one must feel
To see family members washed away
Lost to the sea that came ashore
And it only took a day
Imagine your city being blown apart
By the fury of the wind
Oh how many must have thought
This surely was the end
I saw a man on television
God had spared him and his childrens life
He told of how he struggled
To hold on to his wife
The reporter asked him where she was
He said he didn't know
She had told him to take care of the kids
And then he had let her go
That's just one story, there are thousands more
So many trials they'll go through
So many years it will take to rebuild
Just imagine if it were you
Many men, women and children have lost their lives
To mother natures hand
Why this happens no one can tell
It's too hard to understand
But keep in mind how blessed you are
That you were far far away
And pray that you will never see
What they all saw that day.
God bless the souls and the lives affected by Hurricane Katrina which struck the gulf coast August 2005
They are currently predicting the loss of life will be in the hundreds. Parts of the Mississippi and Alabama coast line have been completely obliterated and 80% of New Orleans is now under water. If you haven't said a prayer for those people, you should.
