I Don't Want To Grow Up

Born again, I'm still a child.
Eyes opened, ready to believe anything You reveal, anything You say.

I don't want to grow up, if it means not trusting in You.
Not just Your doctrines but Your amazing stories which are often so fantastic they're regarded as myth, often so unbelievable that everyone secretly does not believe...
Offering nodds and "Amens" but no childlike wonder... prodigal faith.

No "if Jesus can do that, then I'm gonna too... where's my sandals, it's miracle time!"

I want to walk on water
I want to feed the hungry
I want to jump and
I want to fly before I get to paradise.
Jesus said "All things are possible to him who believes" (Mark 9:23)

I believe God.
I believe and if it helps at all...

I don't want to grow up.

The Ephesians grew up and "lost their first Love" but a baby's love is perfect, undefiled.

I'll drink Your milk, but refuse to grow. I'll learn Your stories but refuse "rational" thinking.
Everyone can tell me it's folly to believe, but I want to be filled with childlike wonder forever.

No Easter Bunny, No Santa Claus, No Tooth Fairy... just the Word of God.

Seeing is not believing, but loving may be.

I love You God. I love You more than it is possible to express.
I love You to the point of befuddlement and confusion within my own meagre cranial capacity.

I don't want to grow up.
I want to be nursed by You forever.

Your eternal baby girl,
Bridget.

If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW

What a beautiful prayer! And the joy and contentment that I resounds from it. (Especially compared to, say, a line line 'I'm all grown up. I've things to do') Indeed, it is a prayer that many of us could do well to mimic! Beautiful.
