Heaven Or Hell: Your Choice
Heaven Or Hell: Your Choice
Stephen A. Peterson
Rowena, a 15 year old teen, was visited by Jesus. At the time of her visitation, she complained bitterly to Jesus that He had punished her all the days of her life. She justified her condemnation of the Lord citing a life wherein she was beaten daily by her biological mother, denied contact with young people her own age, suffered from asthma, had terrible problems with acne and boils and was sold to a drug dealer in payment for drugs her biological mother received before the police found her cold, starving and sick in an Oklahoma City service station. In her opinion, her life is HELL.
Jesus said to Rowena, “come with me, my child, I will show you hell”. Within a flash, they entered a great hall full of teenagers with scabs all about their bodies, tears flowing from their eyes, moans and cries of excruciating pain, and the smell of rotting flesh. They sat around a large table that stretched from one end of the great hall to the other. Everyone in the great hall was starving, sickly and desperate. Each of the condemned held forks in each hand they were not able to release. The forks were a yard in length. Their plights were made desperate because the selfish teens were unable to feed themselves from the tables packed full of food. The ugliness, pain and suffering were more than Rowena could tolerate witnessing.
“Please, Lord! Take me away from this horrible place!” plead Rowena.
“Very well,” said Jesus. “Come with me, my daughter and witness what heaven is like.”
Within no time at all, Rowena found herself in a large spacious hall very similar to the first.
“Lord! You’ve taken me back to hell! You promised you’d never show me that horrible place again!” Now shaking with fear and uncertainty, Rowena entered the great hall with the urging of Jesus. She witnessed a group of teens with the same yard long forks in both hands. The difference was that everyone was beautiful, cheerful, happy and able to eat and drink to their satisfaction. They did so feeding one another the life sustaining food and drink.
“Lord, I don’t understand this! Why are the kids here so happy? What happened?” queried Rowena.
“This is heaven!” proclaimed Jesus. “In heaven, love rules. Helping, sharing, giving, sacrificing are the order of heaven. These are happy because of the service they do.”
Within the twinkling of an eye, Rowena was back in her own room with the same conditions but she was a changed person with a changed attitude about her conditions, a pray filled heart and mind, and joy beyond the understanding of her guardian and friends.
