While my wife and I were in Chicago for our honeymoon, the LORD brought so many people in our path. In Chinatown, the navy pier, our hotel, restaurants that we ate at, and even the malls we visited, it is such a wonderful blessing to see the LORD bring those into our path that need HIM. All those that we spoke to was so open to the gospel, they were so open to the love of GOD, and spoke freely of their disappointments and failures in life away from GOD.
Yet while the blessings were so many and without number, the disappointment we found in the church was astounding. We were told by so many, that no one has ever stopped and offered them a word of encouragement, specially to take away from themselves and their own personal time in order that the WORD be seen in fullness of joy and good tidings. We were even asked by a few that we spoke with to see if we could make arrangements with local churches for us to come and be used of GOD to stir up the love HE has granted those who believe. (The very thing that is in our hearts to do.) One person even said she was totally amazed that my wife and I were the first people in her 50 year life that she met that lifted the glory of GOD and was not ashamed to spread HIS love.
I am telling of our honeymoon, not so people will pat us on the back and say that a boy, nor do we seek any type of congratulations on our marriage. Today we write to plead with and ask the children of GOD to be willing to step up and be the peculiar people we are called to be. There are so many children of GOD that are afraid of pan handlers, they are so afraid of people asking them for anything. I can only assume it is because they are afraid that GOD inside them may cause them to want to give. But sometimes, more often than not, the LORD places people in our paths not so we will give them money, but so that we can say like Peter, gold and silver I do not have, but what I do have I give to you freely, and do for them what GOD has done for each of us, meet them where they are and minister according to their own needs.
Sometimes we are just to be an ear, for those in desperate situations who need GOD and HIS unconditional love. Being willing to lend sound biblical advice, and a strong word of encouragement for them to walk within the confines of a personal relationship with GOD almighty, and not want anything in return.
Those that we spoke with have had many come up to them and try to force their beliefs down their throats, but not come up to them listening and ministering where they personally are at. As ministers we can not try to get everyone on the same plain that we ourselves our on.
My brothers and sisters, evangelism is not turning people away from GOD by us ministers taking the high roads that we place ourselves on, it is welcoming all we encounter into the flock of JESUS openly and willingly. Ministering to their needs and where they are at, not ministering out of our need to be heard. The LORD will surely bring many into your path as you are willing to freely be HIS extension in this world and place HIS love on a platter for all to partake in.
Thank you and GOD bless. I pray that each child of GOD will prayerfully submit to our LORD the request to have HIS very own heart as their own, and be willing to freely give all that we have been given.
