This Dance
She twirled about, this princess of mine,
in the drizzle of the afternoon.
Her face to her Father, her heart in the clouds,
a smile that left too soon.
“Oh daughter of mine, what can I do,
to bring to your face the light?”
“Oh make it rain! So we can dance,
to God, sitting way up high!”
I reach out my hand. Our fingers touch.
The Heavens open wide.
Tears of Love rain upon her heart,
God draws her to His side.
She twirls about, this princess of His,
in the dazzle of His Light.
Her face to her Father, her heart in the clouds,
a smile I see up high.
Years slowly fade. My heart grows weary,
of battling bitter storms.
Darkness hovers, strength gives way,
my Father speaks tender and warm.
“Oh daughter of mine, what can I do,
to bring to your face the light?”
“Oh make it rain, so I can dance,
to You, sitting way up high!”
He reaches out. Our fingers touch.
The Heavens open wide.
Tears of Love, rain upon my heart,
He draws me to His side.
We twirl about, my princess and I,
in the smile of His eyes.
In the beam of Love, our hearts become,
this dance of Love and Light!
