A Christmas In November
(Inspired by a message from "Joyful Noise" Concert)
“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before His presence with singing.” - Psalm 100:1,2
He’s standing there, all in white suit, eyes glistening as he’s singing unto the Lord his songs of praises, bringing entirely new sights and sounds to an extraordinary story, came alive and delivered with clarity and love. His songs are the exact messages he wants to share with us – songs like, “Merry Christmas With Love,” “Don’t Save It All For Christmas Day,” “Joy To The World,” “Mary Did You Know,” and “Good News” among many others. I‘m sitting here motionless among countless of his admiring audience, in awe of that heavenly voice from an almost exact replica of an angel himself, my heart filled with thrill and excitement like a child handed an early Christmas gift in November.
Last November 9 and 10, God has blessed me with an opportunity to attend the “Joyful Noise” Christmas concert, complete not only with meaningful Christmas songs, but also a story and production written and conceptualized by a young man who was a stranger to many of us two years ago. An unknown teacher from North Carolina with a God given voice that captured millions of fans across the globe, a Cinderella kind of story in itself. Dubbed as a nerd, a loser, and “not so cool” by many cynics, this fine young man blossomed because of his self-confidence or God confidence I should say, with extraordinary talents and intelligence, amazing singing voice as well as a heart of gold. In spite of his sudden fame, he’s not shy to wear a WWJD bracelet and tried to live his life to please the Lord and not men. A great example of a Christian who is living his life following God’s great purpose as he hears His calling. While many of today’s young stars promoted their bodies to become famous, this young man live by Christian example. He became one of the young Ambassadors to Unicef, formed his own foundation for children with disabilities, wrote an inspirational book about his life’s struggles and his faith in God, and not afraid to boldly proclaim God’s love whenever he has the opportunity.
This Christmas concert was one example. As he made that joyful noise unto the Lord, he shared with us in his own words that Christmas is an "opportunity" for him. An opportunity to slow down and think of the many gifts and blessings that God has given him for the past years. Therefore, he dedicated this concert to God.
The 2 hour concert ended with him in a black suit, as if he didn’t want us to focus the attention on him, but at the message of Christmas. “Good News…Good News… An angel brings with Good News… Good News..Good News..I meet you with Good News….” The song ended, the curtain fell, his presence slowly faded away, but the message remained in my heart.
Thank you God for bringing this messenger by the name of Clay Aiken by reviving in me the spirit of Christmas once again. What an inspiration!
May God bless you all and may the message of Jesus Christ’s birth remain in your hearts not only on Christmas but always.
