Vision of the Cup of God

Written 11-11-05

The prophet awoke,
And found himself in need;
He saw his own weakness;
Unstable, like water,
Wanting to flow
To the lowest point possible;

In fear, he sought the Lord;
Pleadings and sufferings
For the grace of his God;
Time passed, and the sky was silent;

Still he sought Him,
“I feel my own end, Lord!
I am desperate and lowly;
My flesh taunts me,
And my strength fails me!
Be not silent, and answer me,
For my need is very great!”

Then, behold, he saw before him
A mighty cup, able to hold a man;
The sides were made of gold,
As the bottom was made of silver;
The metal of kings;
Of princes and priests;

He felt a desire to step in;
His yearning caused him to flow in;
This he did, and he understood;

He saw the sides were the word of the Lord;
The bottom was His Spirit;
His obedience found for him safety;
His submission brought him protection;
Since he had nothing within to retain him,
His strength was found about him;

From fear came peace,
From gloom came joy;
His spirit was elated
As he looked about;

“You are my shield about me,
And You set a firm place for me;
My reward is about me,
As Your grace upholds me!”

Then he looked up,
And fear returned to him;
He saw the cup’s open end
And he felt his own insecurity;

He asked the Lord,
“Why is the end open and unprotected?
Why do you leave me open to attack,
For I know my enemy awaits me,
And seeks for my downfall!”

There came a voice,
Small and still,
“My child, I leave the end open,
That you may look to Me;
More importantly, I leave it open,
That I may look upon you,
For you chose to step in,
And so, you are My delight;
You have brought Me joy,
By your choice;
And by this same choice,
You may leave, if you wish;
I give you that right;

“If you stay, you have My protection,
And the cup remains open by My choosing;
And attack will come, but only by My plan,
For your enemy is on My leash,
And I can pull him back
Anytime I wish;
All that comes at you,
Has been filtered through Me;

“You are My David,
My prince and king;
You are also My priest;
I have given this to you,
With this cup, which is My salvation;
Look upon its walls, and see engraved,
The name of My Son;

“He is My plan for you;
Plans of prosperity,
To bring you to an expected end;
All you need do,
Is stay in My cup.”

Author's Note: This is something the Lord showed me. I leave this purposely unfinished, because that is where it stands. The choice left open, the plan is still incomplete.
