Grace, Grace, GodÕs Grace
Freddy watched as the Lord's baseball team played the best Satan could field. It was the bottom of the ninth, and the Lord's team was at bat. There were two outs, and the Devils were leading one to zip. DiabloÕs men scored in the first inning when Adam ignored the CoachÕs warning and tried to pick a guy named Apple off da tree spot. His error allowed the guy on the other corner to steal home easily.
Now, down to one last out, the Lord sent Love to the batterÕs box. The first pitch curved low and away, but Love swung and hit a single right up the gut, because Love never fails. The next batter was named Faith. He had worked out with Love often, and when Satan threw a change up, Faith calmly ripped a liner right over the shortstopÕs outstretched arm.
Next up was Godly Wisdom. Satan wound up and threw a screwball. Godly Wisdom looked it over and let it pass Ð ball one. Next was a forkball, but it was wide by the fuzz on a ticÕs eyelash Ð ball two. A slider and a knuckler also missed, and Godly Wisdom drew a walk on four crooked pitches because he never swings at whatever Satan throws. With the bases now loaded, The Lord brought in His star player. Up to the plate stepped Grace.
Freddy thought, He sure doesn't look like much, and Satan's whole team relaxed when they saw Grace. Thinking he could strike Grace out and win the game, Satan wound up and delivered a fiery fastball. To the shock of everyone, Grace hit the ball harder than anyone had ever seen. Satan, however, was not worried, for his center fielder let very few get by. But as he went up for the ball, it went right through his glove, hit him on the head, and sent him crashing to the ground. The roaring crowds went wild as the ball continued over the fence for a home run. The Lord's team won Ð just as He said they would!
Freddy was thrilled with the outcome, but he didnÕt understand why the Lord had used Grace in such a key situation. So he asked the Coach to explain His strategy. The Lord replied, ÒIf your love, faith or wisdom had won the game, youÕd brag about how you did it on your own. But as I have written in My playbook from the start, only My Grace can get you home. And although My team has passed through many dangers, toils and snares, I was there upholding them by My Grace. I made it clear in My word that I am God alone, that My word is the final word, and that heaven comes only on My terms. I chose to do it this way so no one would have an advantage over any other human being. I chose to do it My way because even though you all deserve to go to hell, I decided to bring some of you safely into My heavenly kingdom in Christ. That is My gift to you! Sing your praise to the Lord!Ó

Love this picture of Grace. It makes it all so clear, doesn't it. Don't think I'll ever see a baseball game quite the same again.
