When the heart is disillusioned;
Nothing seems to 'work' or 'fit',
And the heavyladen spirit...
From its lightless, sightless pit
Struggles just to find solutions
For the problems of the day;
While the disillusioned heart may feel
That God is far away.
Oft' times we near the hazards
That may threaten and befall,
But the disillusioned hear may not
Upon the Master call,
Even though we know His Presence;
We believe that He is 'there',
Yet we place ourselves in danger
Kneeling not to say a prayer.
The disillusioned heart misguides,
And Satan wanders in
Then he lets us know how bad we are,
So worthless, soaked in sin.
Let him know you have the answer,
Faith and hope are still around;
He'll be on his way, he cannot stay
Where the Master's love abounds.
So the disillusioned heart may be
A symptom of defeat,
Or a signal that we need to pause
At Jesus' sacred feet,
To absorb His thrilling message,
Listening to His Words so kind...
We may find the disillusioned heart...
Is more a state of mind!
