It was like looking God straight in the eyes yesterday. After work, I was driving down the mountain that my boss lives on in Towaco, and I froze with amazement as I saw what stood before me. It was a female deer, standing tall and proud, right in front of my car, only about six or so feet away, maybe less. I slowed down and she just stood there for a few seconds and looked at me. As I watched her, she jumped across the street, but turned back to look at me for a few more seconds. It was the most beautiful sight I had ever seen. I saw in a movie once where an actor said, “Only the fool sayeth, there is no God.” That’s true. When you look creation in the face, like I did yesterday, you’re reminded, as I was, of the power of his hand. You’re reminded that he can do all things. It was as if he was telling me, "Don't worry, I'm watching you and will always be with you."
I wished I had film in my camera at that very moment. The deer was so close to my car, I wanted to reach out and touch her. If only she came just a little bit closer, I would have. I found myself silently wishing to have one. But, I just laughed. With three dogs a bunny and two gerbils at home, I don’t need anymore-furry creatures. Besides, my hubby’s chest is furry enough for all of us. That’s how I keep warm on cold and chilly winter nights. Thank God for a hairy-hubby. J
Anyway, I can still see that precious deer in my mind. It just came to my mind that God talks to all of us in different ways. I know yesterday, he was speaking to me…
