As disciples, we want our challenges to be beside a beautiful seaside resort, laid back and cold beverages. Instead, we most often get the Red Sea on one hand, Pharaoh and his army racing towards us on the other, and no-man’s land in-between. The seaside resort is our place in heaven. But wait—the scriptures say that I can have heaven on earth—where is it?
“My challenges often seem so large, surely God can see them.” Where is Moses when you need him? The children of Israel had their deliverer standing with a big stick in his hand, ready to dip it into the water when told to, and set the people free from the terrorists charging towards them.
In today’s disastrous news, it is easy to get caught up in the fear instead of the victory. If your day has the terrors by day and night coming towards you, be encouraged. Know that victory is in your mouth—“speak to those things that be, as though they are not”—demons and evils must flee at the name of Jesus; but only when you know Him as Lord and Savior of your life.
Moses had authority from God to bring the children of Israel out of Egypt. If the Lord our God had not been with them, it wouldn’t have mattered where they were or what the next terror was to have been. Only God could deliver them from their situation and often will put people in your path to assist. And only Jesus can bring the victory to each of us.
“There be many that say, Lord lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us. Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wind increased. I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.” Psalms 4:6-8 KJV
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I accept you as Lord and Savior of my life. I thank you for the victory in every situation today, because you are my deliverer, my redeemer. Thank you for the ability to rest in your peace, and know that everything is in your hands. You are my Jehovah Nissi, The Lord our Victory. Amen
