Curling wisp from lone spire
showing the glow of a single fire
soft against the valley floor
rising past mountains to heaven’s door.
Lacing together with stars light
sweet peace of midnight,
cathedrals of stone and glass
could not this beauty surpass.
Here at the edge of the world,
winter’s design is gently swirled
with a pale iridescent glow
of shadows moving to and fro.
Surrounded by gilded night,
sleepy valley within my sight
the beauty of the scene below,
earth covered in pearly snow.
