The house is quite no lights are on everyone is in bed
I am trying to catch the lyrics that swirl through my head
They evade me when there is something I feel I must say
They play hide and seek, laugh at me peek out and run away.
I can see them on the tip of my tongue; they taste bittersweet
Stretching and yawning I pet the cat curled at my feet
I pour a cup of coffee; try to ignore the lilting sound
It will drive me to distraction until those words are found.
Sitting at the computer, my hands rest on the keyboard.
The words would just tumble out if they were from our Lord,
Instead, it is up to me to explain the world in which I live
At this stage in life words are what I have to give
Words do not come easy when you try to define pain
The world of PD patients would drive some people insane
Most challenges are met head on, with determined force
Endeavoring to show the world it need not show remorse.
We do what we can do and let the doctors do the rest
We look at our limitations as mother natures little test.
It is not understood how parts of the brain decay
And the body still drags itself around from day to day
Scientists are trying to solve this question; they work around the clock
They run out of money, on the lab there is a lock
