I tested out a pattern that I had in my head, just to see if I could make a whole out of its parts, and I was pleasantly surprised that what I'd imagined looked so nice, it came together right from the start.
Each piece alone was not enough, they only made sense when put together, for then they created something useful and pretty; to give or receive it would be a pleasure.
It was a simple card, made in two pieces; the craftwork was done on one part, then glued securely to the other to form a beautiful greeting card.
Looking at it and how it was made reminded me of our love, for that's what God did when He brought us together, making each of us whole, a wonderful gift from above.
Each piece was fine on its own, we each made our way as a 'part' - but we both longed for more, something to fill the holes that we had in our hearts.
When God brought us together to be one instead of two, He used love and forgiveness, peace and joy mixed together as His heavenly glue.
Now our card is complete, ready to be used, ready to become, to go out and do, what ever the Lord wants, whatever He sends, now that you are mine and I belong to you.
The best thing of all is that every single day we get to make a fresh new start, for as God's mercies are new, so our love changes and grows, continually renewing our hearts.
Every day is an adventure, I can't wait to begin, then want it to last forever, for each moment with you is such joy and contentment is a wonder I want to savor.
I thank God every day for bringing us together, for making us something lovely and new, and for giving me a thousand new ways every day to tell you how much I love you!
