Today, in reverie, I thought
Of all the battles I have fought,
And wondered how I came to win...
To face the challenge once again.
Today I felt a self-made pride
In knowing not the need to hide
From struggles that had come to me...
My fellows could MY courage see.
And then, abashed, I bowed my head...
My Champion, in those battles led;
'Twas not my courage, but His grace
That furnished vict'ries in life's race.
