As a nurse, I’ve witnessed many times the joy of birth and the sorrow of death. In both instances, tears were shed. Babies cried at birth. People mourned for their loves ones who died. I’ve also seen life in between – sickness and sufferings, as well as miracles of healing. Each time I’ve learned many powerful life lessons:
1. Life is a miracle in itself.
2. We can not choose when to die.
3. We can not change what happened to us, but we can choose how to react.
4. Our mind-set and attitude have a lot to do with physical and spiritual
5. Fame and riches do not exempt us from facing that most dreaded death-bed.
6. That we all have terminal illness called “sin.”
7. But most important of all, I also learned that there is life after birth.
Jesus was so sure of his mission on earth when He said, “I have come that they may have life and have it to the full” (John 10:10 NIV). Another Bible version of a full life is an abundant life. I believe that He’s not talking about in terms of wealth or fame, but blessings of peace, joy and contentment that we can only find in believing and trusting in His name. At times when my mind and heart are not centered in His will, that I know I wasn't living my life to the fullest. It's only when I focus on His goodness and faithfulness, and submit to His leading, that I experience an abundant life. This is what "life after birth" is all about.
Some of my patients looked already dead before their last rites. Just the same, we will all be like “walking corpses” roaming around aimlessly in this planet if not for Jesus Christ, our Savior. Without Him, you and I will forever be stumbling on dark roads hopelessly, haplessly, and helplessly. The Psalmist wrote, “Teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”
My prayer is that we will all take the time to be grateful to our Creator for the gift of life, and for the hope of eternal life.
My friend, if you haven’t experienced this “full life” now is the time.
Receive Jesus Christ in your heart and live.
How True that true Living is in Christ and after becoming Born Again we truly live and move and have our exsistence in the realm of Heaven and Heaven's ways. Jesus is The Way The Truth The Life and in Him we have Eternal life and Eternal security!!!
