For you we would stretch timeís untested yolk
As if without limit to waste its bank
And overdraw its unfathomable sea,
Where all we relish once is now frozen
Upon titanís sleepless bay and our goals
For useful treasures have been thrown away
To cloistered darkness and all that is past.
I thank sadness that hovers over sleep,
And deep yearning that drains the juice of thought.
But let me these nectars inhale and go
Gently into the seclusion of the world.
Let me a distant shadow be and act
Undetected amidst the hearts of men,
And all my days shall be counted wholly
And worthy to claim rest with the ancients.
