I am a firm believer that God can use almost any given situation to His glory.
My wife and I own and run a small chocolate shop. We make all the chocolate products that we sell here at the store.
Owning and operating a small business like ours one has to learn to do a lot of things themselves ,such as repairing machinery, rather than hiring it out to to be done.
I have two aging chocolate tempering machines in the kitchen of the chocolate shop where I temper chocolate. This particular machine is old and is prone to breaking down.
Well, it and another machine broke down this week, so I was dead in the water as far as making chocolate products.
I managed though ,by the skin of my teeth to revive the small machine and replace the transistor that was shorting out on the circuit board. After I had compled the repair on it I thought I would call it Lazarus since I had given it up for dead and it was now alive again.
I have used that story several times in the last few days to wittiness to people.
Yesterday this lady came to pick up 2 chocolate cell phones I had cast for her that she had ordered several days earlier.
I couldn't cast them at the time she ordered them over the phone since I had no machine to temper the chocolate with. I promised her I would let her know when they were done though.
I managed to revive the machine after several hours of work on it and then cast the cell phones. I then called her to tell her they were ready. Without thinking
of it at the time ,realizing she works at a local funeral home.
When she came to pick up the phones I told her the story about the machine breaking down, giving it up for dead and naming it Lazarus when it was working again.
I didn't really put two and two together until
I had finished explaining how I had brought the machine back to life ,then realize the irony In naming it Lazarus and where she worked. She was very amused.
When I realized the irony I had to chuckle to myself also and praise God for humor
