Of all my tasks the one I treasure most
Is service - its gift is true liberty,
Which like a shell shields me from the sweating
Of the sun as I move ponderously
Within the wall of my will. I rehearse
My daily exercise of letting go
My prescribed path; I embrace the challenge
To carry the burden placed suddenly
On my shoulders; I welcome each great task
As a testament of Godís trust in me.
By my service I am honored, and so
Is the one I serve - both recipients
Of Godís intimate gifts which between us
Give further proof of His infinite love.
