What More.....
What more can I ask of you,
After all you’ve given to me;
Sacrificing everything,
Long ago on a cross at Calvary
You cried out in Gethsemane,
Anguished you were unto death;
“Please protect my future disciples,” you asked,
With sorrow in every labored breath
“I want to follow Your will, dear Lord,
But, if there’s any way You can see;
Relieve the burden placed at my feet,
Let this cup pass from me”
When they came for you in the garden,
You were betrayed by a loved one’s kiss;
Another, drew first blood with a sword,
You raised a hand to put an end to all this
Men had purposed in their hearts to kill you,
That decision, nothing could allay;
The end had long ago been determined,
And God would have His way
Without any hesitation,
You paid the ultimate price;
Your Father asked it of you,
His loving request did suffice
All along Satan had been taunting,
Hoping you would flee;
Instead you hung and saved mankind,
Now, the enemy will burn for all eternity
Your blood washed away all my transgressions,
I’ve discovered what true forgiveness is;
Through your death I gained access to God’s love,
He is mine and I am His
I have concluded, there’s no more to ask of you,
For, you’ve given everything for me;
Sacrificing your blood, your flesh,
Long ago at Calvary.
