Please have mercy on me Oh Lord,
For the voice of destruction is near;
Awfully hard abiding in your Word,
While trying to keep away the fear.
My enemy is prepared to end my life,
A multitude is rising up against me;
Although faced with toils and strife,
I shall be standing firm and not flee.
Even during fear my faith I will keep,
For I trust you with my whole heart;
As a shepherd watchful of His sheep,
From me I know you will not depart.
Oh God I will continue giving praise,
For in you oh Lord I will have hope;
Not being fearful through all my days,
Because with you I am able to cope.
Even if they twist my words everyday,
In all of their evil schemes they plan;
I know that all I have to do is to pray,
For your wrath is more than any man.
