A Birthday Poem
Someone said you’re a BIG “50”
Yet I trust you’re feeling fine,
For it seems like only yesterday
You were only 49.
Now Jack Benny, he was 39
Until the day he passed,
It wasn’t that he couldn’t count,
He just made that birthday last.
And Minnie Pearl had so many candles
Upon her birthday cake,
She said “it resembled a small prairie fire,
In the pictures they did take.”
But what’s one more year, give or take a few,
To someone as special as you,
Light every candle, celebrate every year,
And rejoice in what ever you do.
And may you find God in your future,
As you did in the past,
And may He help you make many memories,
“The kind that will forever Last.”
