Do Not Die In Your Sins (A Word For Sinners)

St John 8:21 says: Then said Jesus again to them, I go my way and ye shall seek me and shall die in your sins: whither I go ye cannot come. Then said the Jews will he kill himself? Because he saith whither I go ye cannot come. And he said unto them ye are from beneath: I am from above ye are of this world: I am not of this world. I said therefore unto you that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
The thought that I want to leave with you is don`t die in your sins. Here we see that Jesus is talking to the Jews. He also spoke to the scribes and the Pharisees. These men were the Jewish religious leaders of the law in those days. They did not believe that Jesus was the son sent from God who forgave the sins of those who repented and believed on him. The Pharisees and scribes often tempted Jesus and accused him of blasphemy much like the world does today.
The bible says in St. John 1:16, for the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. The world hates Jesus and many do not believe that he is the Christ. They think that the bible is just a book of stories. The world is full of religions claiming to be the way to heaven but Jesus said in St. John 14:6 I am the way the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me.
Over one billion people are Roman Catholics and countless millions are Moslems. There are also individuals who believe in Judaism. They are the modern day Pharisees. If these souls do not repent of their sins they shall surely die. Still, many believe that if they be “good” and do charitable works, they`re okay with God. But the bible says for by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God (Ephesians 2:8-9).
The number one commandment that states The Lord thy God is one Lord and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy mind and with all thy strength: this the first commandment (St. Mark 12:30). This is one of many commandments that make us guilty of sin. We all have disobeyed God and fallen short of his glory. Ecclesiastes 7:20(NIV) mentions there is not a righteous man on earth who does what is right and never sins.
In St. John chapter 3, a man name Nicodemus a member of the Jewish ruling council came to Jesus and talked about the miracles he performed (paraphrased). Jesus said I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. Nicodemus said; how can a man be born again when he is old? Surely he cannot enter the second time into his mother`s womb to be born. Jesus answered I tell you the truth no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of the water and the Spirit.
Millions of people especially teenagers die daily in their sins. The natural man is not a child of God but a creation because he is not born again. The bible says that every knee shall bow down and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord to the glory of the Father. God loves us so much that he sent his son in our place to die for our sins. It is through this belief that we are alive to righteousness by faith. Everyone needs forgiveness of sins. So if you believe not that Jesus is the Christ sent from God you shall die in your sins. Do not die in your sins. Amen.
