I remember long ago, going to see Niagara Falls, and looking at them from the Canadian side, it is an awesome sight to see.
You can feel the power of all that water, it vibrates the soles of your feet, and the sound surrounds you on every side; I imagine that's what it sounds like when God speaks.
A Gift That Is Yours For Always
A sight like this makes you realize anew God's incredible power, though it's a force to be feared, yet its beauty draws you in, like the sun draws the face of a flower.
There's a place behind this wall of water where you can stand safe from the falls, where quiet descends and you're protected within, for no one can penetrate this bower.
This reminds me so of our love, a reflection of that from God above, that is strong enough to withstand any threat, yet is a gentle as the touch of a dove.
Your love is all around me, I can feel the strength of the bond, it holds me up, yet cradles me with the softest touch; in the turmoil of life, this is my safe haven, where there is always peace, and the waters are never rough.
I thank God for the imagery that waterfall gives to me, to put a picture in my heart that words cannot say, and I give that image to you, for I've given you my heart, a gift that is yours for always.

Reminds me very much of a secret place I used to go to when I was a teen. We lived on a very large ranch and I would go several pastures away from the house to a little waterfall and hide on the rocks behind it. I'd just listen to the sound and watch the little rainbows forming in the fall for a long time. It's a wonder a snake didn't get me in those rocks. But I had "Someone" protecting my brave little self... "Someone" who knew just what I needed at that waterfall... the same "Someone" who'd create such a beautiful peace-filled scene. Thanks for the memories!
