Going To Church Does Not Make You A Christian
By
Calvin J. Moss

All over the world, you will find people who religiously attend church on a weekly basis. The problem is they are religious and do not have a relationship with God. There are people who faithfully went to church but are now in hell because they thought the altar call was not important. If going to church alone made you a Christian then everyone would be Christians. Furthermore, Jesus Christ never would have died for our sins. But we are not Christians by church attendance but Christians by faith, confession of Christ and repentance of sin.

People often want to serve God in their own way but the bible says those who worship him, worship him in spirit and truth. The Word of God also says that the carnal mind is enmity with God and cannot be subject to the laws of God. So self-righteousness does not mean Christ righteousness. If we are Christians, then we are by the standard of God and not ourselves because our righteousness are as filthy rags and often comes with strings attached.

Bumper stickers and T-shirts that say: “I love Jesus” do not qualify you as a Christian. Having a bible in every room of the house does not bless you home. Jesus is coming to separate the sheep from the goat. The Lord told the Jews to search the scriptures for in them ye think ye have eternal life…(St. John 5:39). See the Jews thought they had eternal life because they followed the laws of Moses but the bible says grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

The devil gets a kick out of people who say they are Christians and are not. It is often what we do when we are out of church that defines who side we are really on because everyone can look spiritual in the house of the Lord. The bible says by their fruits you shall know them. You cannot fake the Holy Ghost or the anointing of God because they are gifts given by God to those who are sons of God.

True Christianity comes from being born of the water and Spirit and then bringing our lives into satisfaction with God by the power of his Holy Spirit and grace. If God is truly our God then we all must serve him like he is. We must serve God not only when it is convenient but everyday of our lives. Christianity is not something you do; it is who you are. Amen.

I like your message and the truths therein. Many young people and older ones too should read this. Thanks for sharing.
