(written 1-28-02)

Father, let me not toil,
Over the question,
Of my next step;
Lord, may sufficiency be found,
In the path alone,
Leading to Your face.

To my Christ with brazen eyes,
And unfathomable heart:
Glory, strength and honor;
My heart has its rest,
Found in Your unfailing,
Presence and Truth.

Over Your fierce ways,
My eyes flood with tears,
Brokenness yet wity joy;
Love unfailing,
And awe transcending;
King above kings and powers,
My abiding hope and eternal inheritance.

My heart extends itself;
Drawn by Your Spirit,
Called by Your Word;
I worship the Worthy One;
Resigning from folly,
Finding folly still within.

You bind me and keep me,
You keep what I've committed;
You alone remain steadfast.
You hold me where You are;
Where You walk, I'll go;
I'm never too far from You.

Let my resignation be,
Forever a gift to You;
Be pleased with a submitted heart;
Pleasure You find, my Lord,
Over a mind and body unholy,
Totally given over to You.
