Then He said to them, “Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions.” (NAS)
We’ve all heard the expression, “The more you have; the more you want”. This is the definition of greed. Another definition is, an unrestrained desire to get, possess or own. Sometimes the word "covet" is used, which means an unreasonable desire for worldly gain; a selfish desire to possess what belongs to another.
