Marriage
I remember when I was a child, I'd wait and watch the dandelions, until their sunny yellow faces had turned to white, then I'd pick them oh, so carefully, looking at the tops that now contained tiny arrows ready to take flight.
Sometimes I would blow on them, other times I would hold them and whirl around in the grass - and watch as all those tiny arrows would float away in the breeze, with my dreams and wishes firmly attached.
And I really believed in my childish way, that if none of those little arrows fell to the ground along the way, that not long into the future, I'd have those wishes, that the dreams would come true one day.
When I grew up, I somehow lost that assurance, that certainty I'd had as a child, who just 'knew,' that God was right there, listening to me, and He'd make sure all the dreams did come true.
It reminds me of now, for I live in my dream - the one God, in His timing, made come true, and each morning when I realize it all over again, I know He's also given me back that wonder, the certainty of that child who just 'knew.'
Many years have passed since I picked those dandelions and made a wish on each little arrow they held fast, but the love I have been given, the joy I have with you holds more promise than all those arrows of the past.
For now I know that true happiness comes from knowing Jesus and following Him first in all I do, and when I'd learned enough, when my heart had been transformed, then God gave me my dream when He gave me you!
I thank God every day for giving me back the wonder of long ago, when all was possible, and wishes did come true, for in Him I've now discovered, life can become the dream, for I'm now living it with you.
It really wasn't the wishes, or the blowing on a flower, or watching little arrows floating away, it was because God had such love for me, that He gave me you and unspeakable joy every day.
So now I don't need a flower to wish on, I can dance in the grass every day, for the wonder is mine, my life is filled with love, you have given me more happiness than words could ever say.

What a pleasant memory! Sometimes, we just have to let our inner child have its way (for such is the kingdom of heaven) and run out there and grab a dandelion to blow into the wind with a big "THANK YOU, FATHER, BECAUSE YOU FULFILL NOT ONLY MY NEEDS, BUT YOU CARE SO MUCH ABOUT MY WISHES AND DESIRES THAT YOU GIVE ME THOSE TOO." Sometimes, Trish, I just turn on some music and dance myself silly for the Lord... just like little girls act silly and dance their little hearts out. If I see a dandelion anytime soon, I'm just telling you now that I'm going to think about this, stop whatever it is that I'm doing, and I'm going to spin around and watch those arrows fly off into the wind... knowing that the Lord alone holds the answers to all my wishes in His wondrous palm. And the arrows that don't fly off, I will blow them away, telling them to find their way back to the Lord who fulfills my dreams.
(smile) it is such a wonder of life and Jesus
