Scene: A church basement. A meeting is taking place much like an AA or NA meeting.
Leader: It's good to see everybody here today. Does anyone have an issue that they would like to share with the group?
Sean: Not right now.
Barbara: Me neither.
Scott: Not me.
Julie: I have an issue. I have a problem with praying. I mean I know what I want to say to God but I just don't know the words.
Sean: Try speaking to God from your heart. God wants us to be honest with him. I used to have a difficult time with prayer. I was asking for petty things.
Barbara: I asked God to watch over my friend who is dying of cancer. I know that God always listens even if he does not answer right away.
He will answer you though. I always pray the Lords Prayer.
Julie: I know all that but I don't know how I should pray.
Scott: It is said in Luke "Now it came to pass , as he was praying in a certain place that one
of His disciples came to him and said: Lord, teach us how to pray, as John also told his diciples. So He said to them when you pray say this: Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Your Kingdom Come< Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, but forgive us our tresspasses ass we forguve those who tresspassed against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil." That is how you should pray.
Julie: Thank you for helping me today. I guess I will know the words to say when the time comes. It is just that I am having a difficult time waiting on God.
Sean: Likde we said earlier God does things in his time in his way.
Leader: Thank you everyone for sharing what was on your hearts today. I feel that some excellent work was done here today (turning toward audience) Would you like one of us to pray with you? If so we would gladly invite you to come before the Lord.
