One Lonely Teardrop

" One Lonely Teardrop "

One lonely teardrop falls,
as he lay there
on cold white sheets.

One Lonely teardrop,
full of all the things
he wants to say but, can't.

No strength to move or hold her,
too weak to speak,
he says it all
with one, lonely teardrop.

Years of memories,,
some good, some bad,
weigh heavily
in that one, lonely teardrop.

One lonely teardrop,
full of hugs and kisses,
and goodbye wishes,
things left unsaid, undone,
weigh heavily
in that last, lonely teardrop.

No, he cries, from inside his head,
don't wipe it away,
it's all I have left
and I want you to have it.

Accept this my wife,
as a token of love,
it's precious because
it's my last,
lonely teardrop.

Irene C. Allen

I like this. It's very sad though. But, still beautifully written. Thank you for sharing.

That was somber and sad, but also sweet and tender. Nicely written. God bless ya, littlelight
