I have in my chest a heart of eternity,
Although you wouldn't know by the look of me;
Once cold, like dry ice, 'til God's word took a slice,
Now it's free to love, to be the new me.
Once it was empty, in it's vastness, so cold,
While youth showed outwardly, I felt so old;
Then came in His Spirit, my soul to cheer it,
And now it holds a faith made of gold.
Within there is infinite gratitude,
Forever to be my final attitude;
It resounds with praise, for I have been raised,
My thanks will echo infinitude.
Author's Note:
"He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end."-- Ecclesiastes 3:11
This truth rings with me now, more than ever before, concerning my relationship with my Lord, Jesus. He has done so much with me and for me. It will take eternity to thank Him, which I will do!
