“The Gates Of Hell Shall Not Prevail”
Calvin J. Moss
St. Matthew 16 verse 18: Jesus says and I say also unto thee that thou art Peter and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Beloved, I say unto thee against the Christ in you, the gates of hell shall not prevail. As children of God, there is nothing in this world that can stop us from reaching our destiny. We are empowered by the Spirit of God to succeed in this life. The bible says that we are more than conquerors and have been called out of darkness into his marvelous light. The gates of hell cannot prevail because God is for us so who can be against us? When we became born again we received a great blessing inside of us. That blessing is the kingdom of God.
Luke 10:19 say, Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you. We are winners in Christ who reign as conquerors. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
The enemy wants to bog us down with the cares of this world in order to steer us from our position as Kingdom children. We have to continue to walk in the light of God if we are to prevail against the gates of hell. This is a spiritual war that we are involved in. We have to continue to pray, stay in the Word and fast. Do not let the enemy take from you what is rightfully yours, your eternal inheritance. Satan wants your soul, will and life.
In St. Matthew chapter 16 verse 19 Jesus said to Peter and I will give unto thee the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. No weapon formed against us shall prosper as long as we put on and keep on the Lord Jesus Christ. Satan is not afraid of us but he is afraid of Jesus Christ. When we put on Jesus Christ we step into a higher power that the devil cannot touch. Jesus said I am he that liveth and was dead; and behold I am alive forevermore, amen; and have the keys of the hell and of death (Revelation 1:18).
The Adversary is called the god of this world but we are rulers in Christ over the darkness of this world. We must keep our minds on the Lord and not look to the left or the right. When we were in the world we were victims, now as children of God we are victors. All day long we must triumph in Christ. It is the strength of God that gives us the victory. As long as we have the victory, the gates of hell shall not prevail. Amen.
