Falling in Love Again

Do you remember when you first came to Jesus? Remember how you hungrily searched God’s word. How excited and amazed you were when your mind and heart were opened to reveal wonders that you had never seen before. What a joy living was because from the time you opened your eyes everything was bright and new. Each day brought another revelation. You couldn’t wait to see what gift God would give you. You talked to God constantly, about everything. You wanted to get to know Him: what He says, what pleases Him, what He wanted you to do. You were eager to learn and obey.

Have you lost that enthusiasm? Are you tired, weary, just getting through each day as best you can?

Jesus says this, “... you have forsaken your first love...” and “...Repent and do the things you did at first...” (Rev. 2:4 & 5 NIV)

Turn back. Rekindle your love for Jesus. Fall in love with Him again. Ask Him to open your eyes and your heart to Him. Look up not around.

In any long-term relationship there are times when we get restless, bored or discouraged. Jesus understands all of these. But He continues to say, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me.” (Rev. 3:20 NIV)

Open the door of your heart, turn and run back to your first love. He’s always ready and waiting to take you back.
