As I sat last night making little wire shapes that would become a new earring design, it occurred to me that the very shape and form reminded me so much of our love.
Each part started with just one circle, that would become the center of the design, then all around it more circles were wound, making out of the circles diamond shapes fashioned all around.
One was not enough, there had to be two, to make the design complete as I had in mind, and once they were both done, they had to be connected, to put them all in a straight line.
I took a sparkling crystal disk, with facets all along the edges, and would it up on another length of wire, putting the crystal in the middle, and on each end I made a connecting loop that attached to each diamond design.
The completed design was so pleasing to the eye, with filigree designs at each end, but the focus of it all was the sparkling glass crystal in the middle, the anchor on which the end designs were each tied.
I think of you and I as those lovely designs meant to be together, but it couldn't be done by our own hands; it took God, in His wisdom, to see where we belonged, to tie us together in one band.
God gave us such a gift in the love we have for each other, one that will never fade, and He placed Himself right in the center of the new couple that He had just made.
For God is the center of it all, the anchor that holds me and you, and it keeps us together, held with the bonds of love, strong and caring, full of love so true.
I thank God each day for seeing the design hidden in our lives, for bringing us together to share our love, and for the grace that makes the love deeper each new day, a daily gift from our Father above.
Each day I think I could not be happier, but then it is transformed again, made new; and I know that I am rich beyond words, for you are mine, and I belong to you!
