Rising early to biscuits baking
Always plenty for the taking
Fighting to finish that white milk gravy
Now I know why I’m so heavy
Slop the hog and feed the chickens
“That’s Mam-maws geranium you’re pickin”!
Off we go for high adventure
Chasing cows around the pasture
Up to the silo to look for rats
Instead, found Uncle Don with a baseball bat.
“I told you”!
“Not while the cows were milking”!
“We should have done what we were told”
Course, who knew that bull would be so bold?
“See, you can’t throw a rock through the ring in his snout”.
“Alright, but lets play in the house.”
“Hide in the corn we’ll play Indians”
“Do you think we’ll ever get out again”?
“Let’s go wade in the creek for awhile”
“That’s not mud”. “You’re in a cow pile”!
Place some more biscuits all in a row
Mam-maw always let us eat the dough
Race for the bell to call,
“Time for dinner”
The one who was first wasn’t always the winner
“Ring it again”
“Yeah, we’ll make the bees deaf”
“It’s ok now, I think they all left”
Off in the night to play hide and seek.
“Midnight”! “You scared me, please show some teeth”
“Daddy, are you sure those bats won’t bite”?
Someone just called, “No more playing tonight”
