Knowing How Fear Operates and Getting it Out
Part 3
I Will Fear No Evil

Psalms 23 1 A Psalm of David. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.

The Lord is my Shepard, I shall not want, or have needs.
Now, a sheep that lies down in green pastures is a happy sheep! That means he doesn’t fear any wolf sneaking in and getting him, if he can lie down so calm and peaceful. He (God) leads me beside still waters, (not rough, trouble filled waters) Still waters means having a calm, and peaceful mind, not filled with turmoil, worry, and trouble on every side. He restores my soul. Restore means to make new. To make alive again. He pumps me up, or He builds me up. God is the great Energizer! LOL He energizes my soul. Your mind and emotions are in your soul. HE leads me in paths of righteousness, means He keeps me from sin. He protects me from sin. He teaches me how to walk according to His ways.

I don’t have to fear evil, or fear anything evil or anything bad happening to me, because He is my Protector. For You my Protector are with me, and You will take care of me. You take good care of me, and won’t let anything bad get me. I totally trust God to protect me. I tell Him all the time, “You are my Protector, and I know I can trust You to take care of me.” This is a literal thing for me; it’s not just some pretty spiritual sounding words to make you guys think “I’m oh so special”. This is real, and you can have this in your life for yourself. You can literally have God as your Protector. Just tell God, you trust Him to take care of you. Tell Him you trust Him to protect you, to be your Protector. Yes, He does love to hear you get mushy with Him. He sure does. LOL

Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. This is talking about when God corrects us. Your correction, or correcting comforts me. As we mature in the Lord, we find that correction from God is no longer an embarrassing thing, but is actually comforting. Because it means if God is correcting us, that means He must love us a lot to take the time to offer to correct us. We begin to take that as a compliment instead of our pride rising up, and saying, “What?? I don’t need to be corrected. I’m perfect as I am!” As we mature, Love (The Word) will flush out that pride, and we will enjoy being corrected “daily”, Yup, daily correction is good for us, and lets me know that God is in love with me, and that He actually enjoys being with me, or He wouldn’t go to all the trouble to spend time patiently correcting me. I welcome daily correction. I love having the attention of God, even if that attention ends up being just correction for the day. I don’t care. Just hang out with me, Lord. I’m happy, happy, when God enjoys hanging out with me. Yes, Yes, Yes!

You prepare a table, You prepare a feast for me, right in the presence or the midst of my enemies. They can’t get me, and I’m so peaceful, and so totally trust God to be my Protector, that I can have a feast, even with all the demons from hell watching (enemies) and have a good time and enjoy myself. Why? Because I have the Great Protector watching over me. Nothing and no one can touch me with God taking good care of me. They can scream all they want “we’re gonna get you.” (LOl I could do this so much better in voice.) “But, neener, neener, you can’t touch me. See that big fellow over there, and there and over there, and over there, and…? Those are my big, huge angels, my Protector has assigned to me. You have to get through THEM to get to me.” Then, just grin and continue hanging out with God, and feasting on His Word.

You anoint my head with oil. You anoint me; You give me Your anointing. I am assured of having Your anointing when I need it. I can be anointing inside minded, knowing I have the same anointing that was on Jesus. My cup runs over. I can have the overflow of blessing on my life. I won’t have the curse hounding me anymore, because I have my cup running over with goodness and mercy and blessing all the days of my life. What can assail me? What can stand against me? I have God taking care of me and protecting me, and providing for me. I will dwell in Your house forever. I will dwell in Your Word forever. Because I am living, abiding, dwelling in Your house and Word, then I am safe from all harm from the enemy. My soul is safe from the enemy. My emotions are safe from the enemy.

My body is safe from the enemy trying to put sickness, pain, and disease on it. My body is full of healing from God. I have the mind of Christ, the Anointed One, so my mind and emotions are full of how Jesus thinks, therefore my mind and my emotions are safe from the enemy. My natural life around me, the material world I live in, my financial life is safe from the enemy, because I have the mind of the Anointed One; I have the mind of Christ, I have the mind of Wisdom. With the mind of Wisdom I have instruction on money matters. Wisdom makes money come to me, and then Wisdom instructs me on what to do with that money to make more money.

Caroline, I have enjoyed this series on Fear No Evil. He is our Protector and with Him, we can have peace of mind and the mind of Christ. Thanks for this study.
