What are you Building

What kind of life are you building for yourself? Are you trying to build it from your own plans and with the tools you have acquired through the years? Maybe it is not coming out exactly as you planned, your dream house is not what you dreamed it would be. Some say our life is built by the external influences around us- The family and circumstances we were born into effect what we become. The cards we are dealt determine if we win or lose.

The habits and tendencies we have, make up part of our house and we are stuck with the life we have. We have bad parts of our life that we have built and wish we could remodel them but believe that there is no way we can change our house. Remember Jesus, what did he do before he began his public ministry? Its interesting to note that He was a Carpenter. He built things, He knew how to build, how to use the right tools and materials. And once He started His Ministry He continued building. His Primary Project were twelve men whom He totally reconstructed. He took average men and built them into extra ordinary men who changed History. He did all the work and sent them out to continue His work. He rebuilt multitudes, all they had to do was believe in Him and do what He told them to do.

We all have a hearing problem though, we don't want to listen to What God has to say. And we definitely don't want to do what He says. It's been this way since Adam and Eve. It's this thing called sin. Our human nature tries to call it other things or blame other things for the sinful life we have as our building. Christ came to free us from our sins and rebuild us. But most of us would rather do it ourselves. The Bible says this in John 3:19-20 " This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed." Most people don't come to Christ because they love darkness or they don't want to be exposed. But the best place to build is in the light, if you stay in the dark you could be surprised at what kind of life you have built in the end when our lives are judged. Jesus said" I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." John 8:12 . No, our lives are not determined by circumstances or the atmosphere in which we were raised, those things affect us and our personality, but what really decides how our lives are built is the choice we make in who builds it. The Master builder or us. It's not a hard choice. God has chosen us, we need to choose Him. Here are some other verses to consider: Hebrews Chapter 3; Psalm 127:1; 1st Peter2:4-8; Jude 20

God loves you, let Him work in your life
