Think of the 4th of July, and when you had some sparklers.
Sparklers are hard to light , probably the hardest firework to light. You have to hold a flame on the tip of it for a long time. Once it gets hot enough, it lights, with the brightest sparks ever. Sparklers are enjoyed by the young and old. They are usually saved till the end, after the big fireworks have gone off, sparklers seem to bring a peaceful ending to the noisy night,
In a way I think God intended us to be sparklers in this dark world. It takes a lot of heat for us to get going, we have to get close to the fire to finally start being of some use, in other words, we have to get close to God to be ignited. sometimes we have to stay there till we are weary. When we are about ready to give up, all of the sudden we are a bright light shining for others to see. Once we are lit, we can be used to light others. When you put a bunch of sparklers together, they light others much faster than one.
Do you want your life classified as a dud? Or do you want your life to be a light and bring enjoyment and peace to others? Do you want to help get others going, or do you just want to sit in a box?
Maybe it's time to become a sparkler. You will need to get close to God, very close. The Bible says God is a consuming fire. He won't burn you, He will only melt away the impurities.
God wants to put a sparkle in you and wants you to be a sparkler for him.
You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. Matthew 5: 14-16
