Many a relationship has been severed because of the lack of use of these two words.
Brother has come against brother, Families have been ruined. Lives have been destroyed
because no one would live by these words.
Because of the neglect of these two, individuals have never reached their full potential and
have lived their lives in regret.
Just two little words,
which are...
forgive and forget.
Some say they can forgive but will never forget, both are hard, but both go together. To truly forgive you have to truly forget. Your memory may recall how someone has hurt you, but you have to choose to overlook the offense if you are going to forgive them and go on.
When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. 1 Peter 2:23
I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more. Isaiah 43:25
Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another, Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:13
