When I close my eyes for the last time
and leave the world awake behind me,
I will simply walk into the waiting light.
I won’t look back at what used to be
or at the things that will no longer be mine.
I will not have regrets.
For I will know that every event in my life had a purpose;
to make me the person that I became.
I will not question why I was here.
I will already know the answer.
I won’t cry out, “Why now, God?”
For I know that He does everything
at the exact moment that His master plan dictates.
When I close my eyes for the last time
And leave the world awake behind me,
I will have accomplished each and every thing
that my heart had ever desired.
I will leave behind my material things
And take only my memories with me,
packed tightly inside my soul,
so that I will never forget who I was
or why I was so blessed
to have been here with you for so long.
