I remember watching the waves in the ocean come into shore, and how differently they appeared as they came in..... and they reminded me of our love.
Before the waves even appear, they are there, hidden out in the vastness of the ocean, their power and beauty unseen, until God raises them up and sends them on their journey to the shore.... so like my life before I met you. I was just a hidden wave in the ocean, my life mostly hidden in the vastness of all the everyday distractions - it had yet no form nor purpose.
Then suddenly, as at an unseen command, the waves appear and build up high, and start their journey to the sand, so fast they seem to fly.
The water in the curl of the wave looks like glass, solid and shiny in the sun, catching the sunbeams in its surface, making the water and the light become one.... just as my life took on a different purpose when Jesus came into it, He transformed me from the inside out, and taught me that in Him there was no doubt. His hand gently raised me up and sent me on my way, increasing my trust and faith every day.
When almost at the shore, the wave begins to fall, and the edges explode into diamond pieces, scattering like being flung from God's hand, and each drop of the wave holds its own little light, and carries it forward onto the sand.
That is the feeling I had when God sent me you, when first my heart knew, that this was a gift sent from His hand, the love of my life was right there in you.
And the joy of that knowledge made my heart explode with love, and the light of it multiplied a thousand times, and my life was forever changed and made new, because from that moment on, I would be sharing it with you.
When the wave finally reaches the shore, it is not a wave at all, but a shimmering sheet of silk, soft and quiet, covering all.
The beauty of the sunshine reflects off the water with a rainbow glow, and in its gentle beauty you can see the colors of love flow.
That is the way our love feels to me, stretching as far as the eye can see, covering over any trouble and pain with soothing comfort, replacing them with grace and peace, setting my heart free.
This is a place I never want to leave, surrounded with this love, more than I ever knew, and I know it will always be mine, for I will always be right by your side, our love making me one with you.
