For a moment,
it was so simple...
A young couple
giving birth in a stable.
Another baby in the world.
Special to his parents,
he still looked like any other.
And as they gazed into his eyes,
their hearts filled with love
and nothing else mattered.
And for a moment,
life was so simple...
And then the star
began to shine brightly above them.
Angels declared His birth.
And then...
the people came.
Strangers believing in a promise...
a promise offering hope and life,
all wrapped in that newborn bundle...
the weight of the world
on those tiny shoulders.
And even though
there was great rejoicing,
pain and suffering was imminent,
for this child was born to die.
Sent by God to save us all.
An offering like no other.
A gift of Grace...
a promise of Salvation...
and hope of Life Everlasting.
But, for a moment,
it was so simple.
